Felipe Colares: “Expect a fight with lots of action.”

Going into his fight on May 21st, Felipe Colares is set to face off with Chase Hooper, the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu savant. In a card that contains former champions and some of the most exciting fighters the promotion has to offer, Colares is out to show that he, too, is one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC. He intends to take the fight to the ever-popular Hooper and showing off his own chops on the ground.

Colares started martial arts at a young age. He had trouble in school and lacked discipline. He used martial arts to get into that habit of focusing and it worked wonders.

“I started to fight because I didn’t have discipline at school and I’m also hyper active. I used the fight to concentrate my energy.”

Originally, Felipe Colares had found judo and taekwondo. He started out young and represented his home country of Brazil as a youth. He’s risen the ranks and become adept in several martial arts that help his MMA game tremendously. You can see his Muay Thai and taekwondo roots with his kick-heavy gameplan in his fights.

“Judo and taekwondo are the sports I trained in high school, representing Brazil in youth. I’m a brown belt in judo and a blue/red belt in taekwondo.”

For Felipe Colares, his inspirations are only that of the best. He looks up to some of MMA’s most dominant, creative, and special fighters. “My inspirations are Minotauro, Anderson Silva, Khabib Nurmagomedov, George St-Pierre. I think these athletes are complete,” says Colares. He continues, “I also admire the promotion of Conor McGregor fights.”

Felipe Colares, The UFC, and Chase Hooper

Felipe Colares made his UFC debut at only 8-0 against Geraldo de Freitas in February of 2019. For Colares, he went through some life troubles and the call from Dana White changed his life for the better.

“I was going through a lot of personal problems at that stage, the UFC came in and changed my whole life. I love Dana White because he changed my life.”

As mentioned at the top, Colares is set to face Chase Hooper at UFC Vegas 55. In addition to his accolades in taekwondo and judo, Colares is also a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu. He plans on showing his skills off and showing where he is superior on the ground over Chase Hooper.

“I respect Chase Hooper. He’s a smart guy, speaks well, and has phenomenal jiu jitsu. But I’m a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu, I’ll show him that. I’m also better than him on top, I’m going to hit him and hit the ground. Expect a fight with lots of action.”

With UFC pumping out event after event every week, it’s hard to keep up. Odds for this fight have yet to be released but that doesn’t mean fans can’t take the time to look into some of the various sportsbook promo codes so that when they are out, they can take advantage of the first bet risk free. There is plenty of action on the card from Vegas so, sometimes fighters like Felipe Colares are overlooked. But Colares goes out there to fight and brings a good fight every time. He has special things happening in his life as well and will be fighting full of emotion.

“When I fight, I give my heart to the fans. I am very happy and motivated. My first child is born a month after the fight, so I need to bring this victory home.”

So don’t miss UFC Vegas 55 as Colares will take on the tough Chase Hooper and show the world with as many eyes as Hooper brings. Colares will bring the fight and it will be one you don’t want to miss!
